Liverpool player ‘set’ to leave immediately after Alexander Isak arrival

A Liverpool player is set to leave the club ahead of the imminent arrival of Alexander Isak from Newcastle United.
Liverpool have splashed the cash this summer, having signed the likes of Florian Wirtz, who cost £116 million, and Hugo Ekitike.
But the Reds have also sanctioned the sales of Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez, not to mention the passing of Diogo Jota.
Arne Slot has been hellbent on reinforcing his attacking options, eyeing Isak, who has been at the centre of a transfer saga this summer.
But the Isak saga is finally coming to a conclusion as Liverpool have agreed a British-record fee with Newcastle.
Liverpool are also working on a deal to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace ahead of today’s deadline.
Guehi, who played in Palace’s 3-0 victory over Aston Villa on Sunday, has been strongly linked with a move to Anfield.
A deal could be hashed out before the 7pm (UK time) deadline.

If Liverpool sign Guehi, then Joe Gomez is likely to leave the club.
That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims Gomez is set to sign for AC Milan if he approves the move.
Gomez has explored his options this summer and has emerged as a target for Milan, who are on the hunt for a new defender after selling Malick Thiaw to Newcastle.
The 28-year-old has been at Liverpool since the summer of 2015 and has made 243 appearances for the club. He came on as a substitute in his side’s 1-0 victory over Arsenal on Sunday.
Speaking after Liverpool’s dramatic win over Arsenal, Slot was asked about the latest on Liverpool’s pursuit of new signings.
He admitted he would ‘probably’ hear what is going to happen on Sunday night.
“I will hear probably tonight if anything will happen,” he said.
If Liverpool get the Isak and Guehi deals over the line, then they will be the club’s eighth and ninth signings this summer.
