🏟️🚨NewsMartin Odegaard injury update as Mikel Arteta confirms blow for Arsenal star…

.
Mikel Arteta has announced that Martin Odegaard has re-injured the same shoulder he hurt prior to the international break, after being substituted during Arsenal’s victory over Nottingham Forest.
The Gunners secured a convincing 3-0 win against Forest at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon, with Martin Zubimendi scoring twice and Viktor Gyokeres netting his third goal for the team.
Arsenal were already missing the injured Bukayo Saka and William Saliba, and Odegaard had to leave the field in the first half due to a collision with Morgan Gibbs-White and teammate Jurrien Timber.
Odegaard fell heavily on his shoulder, and Ethan Nwaneri came on to replace him.
The Arsenal captain had previously been forced off with a shoulder injury during the first half of the match against Leeds in mid-August, which was his side’s second game of the season.
Fortunately, the injury was not as severe as initially feared, as Odegaard returned to the bench the following week against Liverpool, coming on in the second half before representing his country during the international break.
In his post-match press conference, Arteta disclosed that the current issue involves the same shoulder but expressed hope that it is not a serious concern.
‘It is a very similar injury,’ Arteta stated.
‘He wasn’t comfortable to continue. He played two games for Norway and he wasn’t able to carry on today.
‘So we have to evaluate him with the doctors, but I am confident he will do his utmost to be ready for Tuesday.
When asked if surgery would be necessary, Arteta replied: ‘No, I don’t believe so. I’m not the specialist, but the medical staff were not worried at that level at all.
‘Last time, within a few days, he managed the pain. However, I cannot determine the severity of today’s situation.’
Arsenal will kick off their Champions League campaign against Athletic Club on Tuesday, followed by a match against Manchester City at the Emirates next Sunday.
