Liverpool Fans Tell Player to Leave in January After Man City Defeat
Liverpool fans have called for one player to be sold in January after his performance at the Etihad.
It was another afternoon to forget in the Premier League for Arne Slot’s men, as they were handed a 3-0 defeat by Pep Guardiola in his 1000th match as a manager.
Erling Haaland opened the scoring in the 29th minute after being uncharacteristically denied from the penalty spot by stand-in goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili 16 minutes earlier.
Liverpool then thought they had equalised through Virgil Van Dijk, however Andy Robertson was adjudged to have been offside in the build-up.
A Premier League statement read: “The referee’s call of offside and no goal to Liverpool was checked and confirmed by VAR – with Robertson in an offside position and deemed to be making an obvious action directly in front of the goalkeeper.”
City then rubbed salt in Liverpool’s wounds before the break as they doubled their lead through Nico Gonzalez, before Jeremy Doku’s second half stunner wrapped up the points.
Despite another overall poor performances from Slot’s men, fans online were left far from impressed Ibrahim Konate’s involvement in the defeat.

Konate’s performances have become particularly under the microscope due to rumours linking with a free transfer at the end of the season.
One fan wrote: “Replace Konate in January, he seems disinterested and his head is in Madrid.”
Another posted: “Konate needs to go in January. He can’t pass the ball his decision making is atrocious and he is about as strong as a bag of haribo.”
“Can we raise transport for Konate to Madrid in January, Gomez can handle the rest of the season,” a third fan added.
A fourth fan commented: “When Konate makes one mistake, you know another ten are coming. His head just completely goes. He’s a fucking liability.”
Another joked: “If Madrid take Konate for free we’ve robbed them.”
