LIVERPOOL
Ready to explode 💥 — Real Madrid and Liverpool could trigger a blockbuster swap deal, exchanging Rodrygo and Florian Wirtz!
Rodrygo Goes’ future at Real Madrid is becoming increasingly uncertain under Xabi Alonso. Once seen as a key figure in Madrid’s attack, the Brazilian forward now finds himself on the fringes of the starting lineup.
Despite his quality and versatility, recent tactical decisions and squad rotations under Alonso suggest that Rodrygo may not be part of the coach’s long-term plans.
This situation has naturally attracted attention from other European clubs, with Liverpool FC potentially playing a major role in Rodrygo’s next move.
Real Madrid could pursue Florian Wirtz if Rodrygo is sold in time — reports – Football | Tribuna.com
What’s the story?
According to Defensa Central, Liverpool has admired Rodrygo for some time, and Real Madrid is reportedly considering a swap deal that would see the forward exchanged for Liverpool’s Florian Wirtz.
Although Wirtz had a shaky start in the Premier League—struggling to adapt to the pace and physicality of English football—he is still regarded as one of Europe’s most promising midfielders.
Alonso is said to admire the German talent and sees signing Wirtz as a way to add creativity and balance to Madrid’s midfield—something he has been seeking since his arrival.
And Liverpool?
Liverpool, for their part, have long valued Rodrygo’s versatility across the front line, seeing him as a player who fits perfectly into their style of play.
A direct swap deal between the two clubs could therefore benefit both sides, although it remains complex financially and contractually.
Real Madrid had previously tracked Wirtz while he was in Germany but abandoned the pursuit due to his high price. Ironically, the player may now arrive at the Bernabéu through an unexpected route.
While nothing has been finalized, the possibility of a Rodrygo ↔ Wirtz swap deal could accelerate in the second half of the season.
