Arsenal ‘Agree to Sign’ Twin Brothers With One Dubbed the ‘Next Neymar
Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign Ecuadorian twin brothers with one of them drawing comparisons to Neymar
Arsenal’s impressive season continues, with the team sitting at the top of both the Premier League and Champions League tables.
Despite their strong position, Mikel Arteta is expected to explore the transfer market in the new year to further strengthen his squad. However, the club’s recruitment plans extend well beyond January.
Arsenal have reached an agreement in principle to sign Ecuadorian twins Edwin and Holger Quintero from Independiente del Valle, with the deal set to become official when they turn 18 in August 2027.
According to ESPN, the highly rated teenagers are in London this week to complete the final steps of the move, including signing their contracts before an official announcement is made.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also confirmed the news, posting:
“Arsenal agree deal to sign 16-year-old Ecuadorian twins Edwin and Holger Quintero from Independiente Del Valle. Agreement in place after the Quintero brothers travelled to London this week to join Arsenal. Deal valid from when they turn 18 in 2027.”
The Gunners beat heavy competition from several major European clubs to secure the pair. Arsenal have reportedly monitored the twins for more than a year. Edwin is described as a quick right winger with comparisons to a young Neymar, while Holger plays as an attacking midfielder.
The fee for the 16-year-olds has not yet been revealed, but the move reflects Arsenal’s strategy of targeting elite emerging talents. It follows their agreement to sign Victor Ozhianvuna, who is set to join from Shamrock Rovers in January 2027 after turning 18.
Independiente del Valle have built a reputation as one of Ecuador’s top talent factories, producing stars such as Moisés Caicedo — who moved to Chelsea for £115 million — and Piero Hincapié, who joined Arsenal from Bayer Leverkusen for £45 million this summer.
According to the report, Arsenal view the Quintero twins’ signing as a significant success for their academy recruitment strategy. Sources add that a major factor in the move was the club’s proven pathway from youth level to the senior squad, demonstrated by the rapid rise of Myles Lewis-Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dowman.
