Liverpool NewsLiverpool must sack Arne Slot ASAP and appoint ‘world-class’ manager after Sunderland draw…
Liverpool needs to dismiss Arne Slot immediately and hire a ‘world-class’ manager following the draw against Sunderland.
Liverpool has yet again failed to secure a victory, and it seems that Arne Slot’s tenure at Anfield is nearing its conclusion.
The Reds managed to end a streak of nine losses in 12 matches over the weekend with a significant 2-0 victory against West Ham, yet the manager made only one alteration to his starting eleven for the match against newly-promoted Sunderland on Wednesday night.
However, the team delivered another disappointing performance that was far from their usual standard, managing to salvage a draw only due to a Nordi Mukiele own goal from a Florian Wirtz shot. A crucial goal-line clearance by Federico Chiesa in stoppage time also helped them secure a point, in a display that Jamie Carragher labeled as ‘very concerning’.
It’s Time for Slot to Depart Liverpool
Slot had an outstanding first season at Liverpool, successfully filling the gap left by Jurgen Klopp and winning a Premier League title on his first attempt. Nevertheless, the decline this season cannot be overlooked, stemming from his own strategies and player selections.
Wirtz and Alexander Isak were signed for record amounts, while Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong were added to enhance the new attacking approach. Yet, none of these players have made an immediate impact and have faced challenges, while the rest of the squad appears unable to handle the physical demands of the Premier League.
Currently, Liverpool has only achieved four wins in their last 14 matches across all competitions, with no signs of improvement in sight. Defensively, the team is a complete disaster, and offensively, they seem devoid of creativity.
Supporters are starting to lose faith in Slot, and as the holiday season approaches, Liverpool must make the difficult choice to part ways with the underperforming manager while there is still ample time to recover and salvage the season in the new year.
Oliver Glasner would be the ideal replacement.
If Slot departs, significant questions will arise regarding his successor, yet there is a clear candidate who would likely be readily available.
Since taking charge of the Eagles, Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has been outstanding, securing the FA Cup and Community Shield while guiding the club through its most successful era. However, the Austrian, often labeled as ‘world-class’, will see his contract expire at the season’s end and has recently expressed his frustrations with the board.
This situation could pave the way for an earlier departure, and it has been rumored that he might receive a call from Anfield if Slot vacates his position.
The moment is ripe for Slot to step down, allowing Liverpool to recruit Glasner. The Sunderland match underscored this necessity
