William Saliba receives red card against Bournemouth that will see him miss HUGE fixture
Arsenal defender William Saliba is set to miss a key Premier League fixture after receiving a red card in Saturday’s match against Bournemouth. Saliba, who has been a standout performer for Arsenal this season, was sent off in the 30th minute for fouling Evanilson and denying a clear goal-scoring opportunity.
Initially shown a yellow card by referee Rob Jones, the decision was upgraded to a red card following a VAR review. This marked the first red card of Saliba’s career.
The timing of the suspension is particularly unfortunate for Mikel Arteta, as Arsenal are scheduled to face league leaders Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium next weekend, leaving the Gunners without one of their key defenders.
