Much attention was focused on Arne Slot’s reaction to the free kick awarded against Darwin Nunez, but there was another moment that frustrated the head coach even more.

As fourth official Craig Pawson prepared to announce seven minutes of added time against Chelsea, cameras captured Slot’s exasperated response. With a heavy sigh and a sharp shake of his head, Slot’s frustration was evident as the match entered its final stages, which ultimately ended in a victory for Liverpool.

Despite Slot’s displeasure with some of the officiating, the new head coach had plenty to be pleased about regarding his team’s performance against Chelsea. Many expected Liverpool to struggle after Jurgen Klopp’s departure, but Slot has enjoyed remarkable success so far.

Apart from a slip-up against Nottingham Forest, the team has been excellent. Overcoming Chelsea after the international break was a significant test, and Curtis Jones’ goal was a fitting reward, keeping Liverpool at the top of the table for another week.

With Champions League football approaching and a trip to the Emirates next, it will be another opportunity to assess the team’s title prospects. Based on their performances so far, the new-look Reds have been highly impressive.
