Neither Messi nor Ronaldinho : Lamine Yamal surprises everyone and reveals her idol !
Lamine Yamal, who has continued his impressive form with Barcelona this season, has emerged as a true star after contributing to Spain’s victory at Euro 2024. At just 17 years old, the talent from “La Masia” has already become a key figure for the team managed by Hansi Flick. In ten La Liga matches this season, Yamal has contributed to ten goals, with four goals and six assists, helping Barcelona secure first place in the Spanish league.
Despite often being compared to Lionel Messi, Yamal surprised many when he revealed that his idol growing up wasn’t Messi or Ronaldinho. In a recent interview, he explained that although comparisons to Messi are a sign of progress, his true inspiration came from Neymar.
“My idol when I was a child was Neymar. Even though Messi was the best, the way Neymar played and his attitude… I adored him,” Yamal said. He emphasized the importance of “leaving a legacy” and continues to draw inspiration from Neymar’s style and personality.
