BREAKING NEWS: Live From Anfield, Arne Slot Slams Star Player After Horrible Performance Against Well Composed Arsenal Where The Match Ended In 2:2 Draw. He Said, “He’s Absolutely Done!

Liverpool’s left-back Andrew Robertson faced strong criticism from fans on social media after his performance in the Premier League match against Arsenal on October 27. The game, held at the Emirates Stadium, ended in a 2-2 draw.
Arsenal struck first just nine minutes in when Ben White’s through ball reached Bukayo Saka, who bypassed Robertson with relative ease. Saka’s left-footed shot from a tight angle beat Alisson, giving Arsenal an early lead. Liverpool quickly responded as Virgil van Dijk scored a header in the 18th minute, assisted by Luis Díaz, who headed the ball back into the box from a corner kick. Arsenal, however, regained their lead just before halftime when Mikel Merino headed in Declan Rice’s set-piece delivery in the 43rd minute. The Reds fought back again, with Mohamed Salah scoring in the 81st minute following a swift counterattack orchestrated by Darwin Núñez.
Robertson was substituted in the 63rd minute, replaced by Konstantinos Tsimikas. His individual stats were underwhelming, showing 34 touches, two clearances, and a pass accuracy of 73%, without any key passes and with nine losses of possession. Fans expressed frustration on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), with many suggesting it might be time for him to be replaced in the lineup.
Criticism varied, with some comments like “Robertson is finished” and others stating, “It’s time for him to start packing.” Some fans mentioned that Robertson had struggled over the past year, with one noting it was surprising Liverpool hadn’t targeted a new left-back last summer. Others argued that Tsimikas might currently be a better option, given his one-on-one defensive abilities. A few fans even suggested Robertson consider retirement, citing a perceived decline in his physical and defensive skills.
Since joining Liverpool from Hull City in 2017, Robertson has been integral to the team, contributing to victories in the Premier League and the Champions League. This season, he has helped Liverpool secure seven clean sheets in 12 appearances across all competitions. Although his contract runs until 2026, recent performances have sparked questions about whether Liverpool should strengthen their options at left-back.
Liverpool’s head coach, Arne Slot, remained positive in his assessment of the overall team performance despite the criticism directed at Robertson. Speaking at the post-match press conference, Slot praised his players’ resilience, especially given the challenge of playing a strong Arsenal side after a demanding European away game earlier in the week. Slot emphasized the team’s energy and strength in coming from behind twice and noted that their performance, especially in a loud away setting, was commendable.
After the draw, Liverpool remain in second place in the Premier League table with 22 points, just one point behind leaders Manchester City. They are set to face Brighton twice in the coming week: in the EFL Cup Round of 16 on October 30 at Falmer Stadium and in the Premier League on November 2 at Anfield. These matches provide a chance for Liverpool to regain momentum and for Robertson to respond to the criticism with a stronger performance.
