LIVERPOOL
🏟️🔥BREAKING NEWS: Fans have called Sky Sports to remove Gary Neville from Liverpool games after what he did against Arsenal.

Gary Neville’s commentary during Liverpool’s recent 2-2 draw with Arsenal has sparked debate among fans once again. The former Manchester United defender, who provided live analysis for the match, faced a wave of criticism on social media, with many accusing him of biased coverage.
Liverpool managed to salvage a point in the thrilling encounter, thanks to equalizing goals from Virgil van Dijk and Mo Salah, giving their supporters a reason to celebrate. Up next, the Reds are set to face Brighton & Hove Albion in the Carabao Cup’s last 16 at the Amex Stadium.
One prominent voice in the criticism was former Liverpool player John Aldridge, who humorously shared on Twitter that he’d messaged Jamie Carragher at halftime to complain about Neville’s commentary, even taking a jab at Neville’s ties to Manchester United.
The question of bias in Neville’s analysis is not entirely new, but it was highlighted again during this particular match. As a pundit, Neville’s primary role is to provide objective insights into the game, especially given his position as a representative of a major broadcaster. Nevertheless, his repeated critiques of Trent Alexander-Arnold’s performance following Salah’s equalizer stood out to some as a reminder of his Manchester United allegiances. Despite praising Alexander-Arnold’s outstanding pass to Darwin Nunez, Neville commented on the Liverpool defender’s overall passing accuracy, noting, “His passing was wayward! But not anymore. At times his passing just hasn’t been right. But he’s world-class on the ball.”
To be fair to Neville, Alexander-Arnold did have some mixed moments during the game. Still, his influence was clearly present as he contributed significantly to Liverpool’s efforts to regain control. According to Sofascore statistics, Alexander-Arnold made three key passes, along with seven crosses and 14 long-ball attempts. Although he didn’t register a direct assist, his impact was evident in Liverpool’s two goals on the day.
As fans weigh in on Neville’s commentary style, the balance between impartiality and personality remains a topic of debate.
