MANCHESTER CITY
🏟️🔥Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola broke down in tears after Two City Starting XI player was injured today during training
Ruben Dias will miss the next two games from Manchester City because he has suffered a muscular injury, while John Stones is also questionable for the Champions League trip to Sporting this week.
At Bournemouth, Stones and Dias were missing from the city’s squad, with Guardiola cryptically saying before the game that the duo “would be ” for a while. This means that slides will return after the international break, while Stones was unable to travel to Bournemouth due to a plantar fasciitis foot problem.
Guardiola also spoke about the decision to bring Kyle Walker back after his own injury problems – his first assignment since the international break – while Nathan Ake played despite pain at the vitality stage.
Ake seemed to be limping when he was replaced in the second half and left the square on the opposite side of the tunnel area, which only contributed to the ongoing injury problems at Etihad Stadium.
Guardiola prematurely greeted Walker, Jeremy Doku and Kevin De Bruyne, although De Bruyne was not used against Bournemouth.
We have players with rhythm. However, there are other players who lack rhythm. Players return from injuries, but we knew it ”, Guardiola said. Ruben will be absent until the international break. Manu [Akanji] and Nathan go out of their way to be present, Kyle was also with us for 18 days without a training session and was there today. Rico [Lewis] was tired after many minutes.
This is the position where we tried to manage [the team] at the Spurs to be fresh here. “We couldn’t handle it, they were at a different pace today. ”
The coach had challenged his players to play despite pain before this game, and then explained the last-minute decision to have Ake start in his former club’s stadium.
Manu and Nathan were not in really good shape. The manager said he didn’t know if Nathan could play until the very last moment. “He expressed the wish to try. ” After the 2-0 I decide not to put any additional pressure on, we need it for next Tuesday. There are times when such things happen more often than in others. It has to be dealt with as people return. Sooner or later the team will be back.
Jack Grealish remains outside, while Ake, Akanji and Stones have to be checked before the Champions League trip to Sporting.
