⚽️🗞 Please let me leave. My former teammates who moved to other clubs are thriving, and while I love Manchester United, I can’t keep pretending everything is fine when there’s no clear plan at Old Trafford.” Manchester United is stunned after Marcus Rashford revealed his desire to depart, with a surprising move to a Premier League rival potentially happening in January.

A shocking report claims Marcus Rashford has requested to leave Manchester United in January, with three potential destinations – including a Premier League rival – being considered. Rashford, 26, has faced a decline in form since last season, scoring just eight goals and providing four assists in his last 41 league appearances, a significant drop from his 17-goal, five-assist performance in the 2022/23 campaign.
Spanish outlet *Nacional* reports that Rashford blames the lack of an “ambitious or stable project” at Old Trafford for his struggles, prompting him to ask his agent to seek a January move.
The report names Aston Villa, Napoli, and Marseille as clubs interested in signing Rashford. A move to Villa would be surprising, but the club has become a strong force under Unai Emery, currently competing in the Champions League. Napoli, considered the most likely destination, could offer Rashford the chance to reunite with former teammates Scott McTominay and Romelu Lukaku, with manager Antonio Conte reportedly keen on the move. Napoli is also leading Serie A, offering Rashford the chance to compete for league titles. Marseille, though, appears the least likely option due to financial limitations that could hinder their ability to meet United’s demands. However, a move there would see Rashford link up again with former United winger Mason Greenwood.
While the accuracy of the report is uncertain, *TEAMtalk* insider Fraser Gillan has suggested that Rashford could leave as early as January, with PSG and Bayern Munich also reportedly interested. United, however, have yet to approve any potential departure.
In other news, Manchester United are said to be eyeing a move to hijack Real Madrid’s pursuit of Alphonso Davies, who is in the final year of his contract. The club is also considering allowing Antony to leave on loan in January, possibly returning to Ajax, and are keeping an eye on teenage Sporting CP forward Geovany Quenda.
