🚨 PRICE NAMED FOR MARCUS RASHFORD 🚨 The 26-year-old’s future is up in the air after this weeks controversy, and the price has been revealed… 👀
The potential fee that Manchester United could ask for Marcus Rashford if PSG makes a bid to sign the striker.
Manchester United may set a record fee for a British player if Paris Saint-Germain expresses interest in signing Marcus Rashford this summer.
For a considerable period following his emergence as an 18-year-old in 2016, Rashford was a staple on United’s team sheet, regardless of the manager in charge.
However, after a satisfactory campaign in 2022/23, the England striker has struggled to find the back of the net this season, scoring just four times in 20 Premier League appearances.
This week, the 26-year-old made headlines for negative reasons, as Erik ten Hag omitted him from the squad for the 4-2 FA Cup victory against Newport County on Sunday amid reports suggesting Rashford was seen partying in Belfast on Thursday and missed training on Friday.
On Monday night, United issued a statement stating, “Marcus has taken responsibility for his actions. This has been dealt with as an internal disciplinary matter, which is now closed.” However, it remains uncertain whether Rashford faced any additional consequences.
Despite facing both on and off-field challenges, Rashford continues to draw interest from leading clubs across Europe.
Paris Saint-Germain was linked with the 26-year-old last year, with United placing a £120 million price tag on their academy graduate.
Rashford concluded the season with impressive stats, tallying 30 goals and 11 assists in 56 appearances across all competitions. During the summer, he committed his future to the club by signing a new five-year contract, reportedly worth £325,000 per week.
With more than four years remaining on his contract, it could require an offer surpassing United’s initial £120 million valuation to compel the Premier League giants to consider a sale.
Arsenal set the bar for British player transfers last summer by acquiring Declan Rice from West Ham for a staggering £105 million. Even considering the potential add-ons that could elevate the fee Real Madrid paid for Jude Bellingham to £114 million, Rashford has the potential to eclipse this record.
Despite his lucrative new contract, Marcus Rashford’s value has reportedly dropped to €100 million (£86 million) over the past six months, attributed to his decline in form, as per The CIES Football Observatory.
Regardless of his contract status, Rashford’s future is poised to remain a focal point of media attention throughout the rest of the season and into the summer transfer window.
