Jurgen Klopp has delivered a directive to Liverpool supporters ahead of their pivotal Premier League encounter against Chelsea. Despite their 5-2 FA Cup victory over Norwich on Sunday, Klopp’s recent announcement regarding his departure at the end of the season has cast a shadow over the team’s recent performances.

Liverpool supporters paid tribute to their manager of nine years throughout the match, creating an emotional atmosphere at Anfield.

Klopp has never been shy of expressing his appreciation of the club’s fans, but ahead of the Chelsea match he has told them to stop singing about him and focus on supporting the team.

Last Friday, Klopp took everyone by surprise with his announcement that he would be stepping down as manager at the end of the season. “I adore absolutely everything about this club, the city, our supporters, the team, and the staff,” he expressed. “But I’ve realized that I cannot continue in this role indefinitely. After our years together, the mutual respect and love have grown immensely, and I owe you all the truth – and that truth is that I’m running out of energy.”

“I’ve known for some time that this decision was looming, but now that it’s out there, I feel at peace,” Klopp continued. “Taking this step is necessary for me, and despite the emotions attached, I am fully convinced it’s the right one.”
