Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho has taken a major decision hours before his side’s Premier League fixture at Liverpool.

The Argentinian has not started a match for Manchester United since December 7 and was left out of the squad for their 2-1 victory over Manchester City.

Unlike Marcus Rashford, who was also dropped for the Etihad clash, Garnacho returned to the squad and has made substitute appearances in United’s last four games across all competitions.

Earlier this week, *The Daily Mail* reported that Garnacho was excluded due to a “show of dissent” towards manager Ruben Amorim. The incident allegedly occurred during United’s Europa League match against Viktoria Plzen, where Garnacho appeared to turn his back on Amorim and walk away while receiving instructions before coming on as a substitute.

A representative for Garnacho told the outlet that the situation was a “misunderstanding” and that there was no intent to be disrespectful.

Amorim later praised Garnacho’s response to being dropped, saying before United’s 4-3 Carabao Cup loss to Tottenham on December 18: “Really good. He trained really well. He seems a little bit upset with me, and that is perfect. I was really, really happy [with that], because I would do the same. He is ready for the game.”

Ahead of the derby against Liverpool, Garnacho appeared to deactivate his Twitter account, which had over 800,000 followers. The account now shows as “no longer available.” However, this action does not necessarily mean the account has been permanently deleted, as users can recover deactivated accounts within 30 days, and exceptions may allow data recovery beyond this period.

Garnacho is expected to be in the United squad for the Liverpool clash, although Rashford, who recently returned for the 2-0 loss to Newcastle, is reportedly ill and unlikely to feature.
