🏟️🔥LIVERPOOLTODAY TOP TRANSFER NEWS: Man Utd exciting Rashford swap, Isak to Arsenal gathers pace, Kvaratskhelia to Liverpool, Elliott to Bundesliga…. Onthegoal.com.ng brings you the latest transfer news and gossip from the Premier League and all European Top league.
Liverpool rule out Kvaratskhelia transfer
Liverpool boss Arne Slot has appeared to rule out a January move for Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
“When you said they are linked with clubs, we are all linked,” the Dutchman explained in his press conference ahead of Liverpool’s FA Cup third round clash with Accrington Stanley.
“Kvaratskhelia – it is January. And I said after West Ham, ‘Don’t disappoint me with links.’ That is what is happening now.
“Ninety-nine times out of 100 at the end of the window, almost all of these stories are untrue. So what can I comment about? The rumours keep going but [there are] no comments from my side.”
Manchester City could be the busiest of all the Premier League teams in this month’s transfer market after enduring a difficult first half of the campaign. The Citizens appear to be out of the title race already but are pushing to sign Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis.
Manchester United are also in desperate need of reinforcements following a woeful start to the season, with Ruben Amorim unable to turn the team’s fortunes around since taking over from Erik ten Hag.
But the Red Devils could ship Marcus Rashford out of the club before bringing new faces in, and a swap deal with Napoli is reportedly on the cards.
Liverpool are flying in the Premier League this season and may wait to see what their rivals do before making any rash decisions about signings.
Arsenal and Chelsea, meanwhile, are on the hunt for stars as they attempt to keep pace with the Merseyside giants. The Gunners are said to be chasing Alexander Isak, who has been in inspired form for Newcastle this season.
Man City agree Abdukodir Khusanov transfer
Manchester City have agreed a deal worth £33.5million plus bonuses for Lens centre-back Abdukodir Khusanov.
According to The Athletic, Khusanov will sign a four-and-a-half-year contract at the Etihad Stadium, with the option of a further year.
The 20-year has earned 18 caps for Uzbekistan and was targeted to strengthen Pep Guardiola’s faltering defence.
The report adds that City have also opened talks with Eintracht Frankfurt for Omar Marmoush, and there is a willingness to find a compromise.
Juventus in pole position for Randal Kolo Muani
Juventus are considered the current frontrunners to sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani this month.
That’s according to Sky Italy, who add that Tottenham remain interested in the 26-year-old striker.
However, it’s claimed that Manchester United haven’t followed up their initial enquiries.
The report states that PSG are only willing to sanction Kolo Muani’s exit on a permanent basis or on loan with an obligation to buy.
Jorginho holds Palmeiras talks
Arsenal midfielder Jorginho’s agent has held exploratory transfer talks with Brazilian giants Palmeiras.
ESPN report that Joao Santos is gathering potential options ahead of the 33-year-old’s contract expiry this summer.
The discussions have been described as preliminary and Palmeiras are yet to submit a formal offer.
Barcelona enter Marcus Rashford race
We’re aware this isn’t the Manchester United transfer news blog, but the updates just keep coming in…
According to SPORT, Barcelona have decided to go all out to sign Marcus Rashford on loan until the end of the season.
The 27-year-old is said to be open to joining Barca, and sporting director Deco is pushing the mutual interest.
Joshua Zirkzee makes transfer decision
Manchester United have reportedly been informed that Joshua Zirkzee wants to stay at the club this month.
According to Sky Germany, Zirkzee has no intention of leaving and is determined to prove himself as he believes in his abilities.
The 23-year-old has scored just four goals in 28 games since joining from Bologna in the summer.
He has been linked with a quick exit to Juventus but now looks set to remain at Old Trafford.
Aston Villa consider Marco Asensio
Aston Villa are considering a swoop for Paris Saint-Germain forward Marco Asensio, according to reports.
French outlet RMC Sport claim that the Premier League side are eyeing Asensio as well as Randal Kolo Muani.
PSG are said to be willing the let the 28-year-old – out of favour under Luis Enrique – leave this month.
A move for Villa striker Jhon Duran is said to be in the works, so Asensio could be involved in a swap deal.
Man Utd chasing Kolo Muani signature
Manchester United are said to be determined to do everything possible to secure the services of Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani this month. The Red Devils have been lacklustre in front of goal this season and have netted just 23 times in their opening 20 Premier League matches.
According to Sky Germany, United’s efforts to sign Kolo Muani are becoming more concrete and they will do all they can to get their hands on the 2022 World Cup runner-up.
The Red Devils have recently held very specific talks with the 26-year-old’s management team and are now expected to enter into negotiations with PSG over a transfer.
The 13-time Premier League champions are considering a loan deal but ideally want to include a clause that would give them an option to eventually buy the player.
Chelsea discover Mainoo price
Manchester United will reportedly demand £100million if they decide to sell Kobbie Mainoo to Chelsea this month. The 19-year-old has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford, despite flourishing throughout the early stages of his Red Devils career.
According to The Independent, the Blues have an interest in Mainoo but would need to offer United close to £100m to test the Red Devils’ resolve.
Mainoo, who was born in Stockport, has become a key player for United and would prefer to stay at Old Trafford
Arsenal set for cash boost
Arsenal are in line for a cash boost as Mika Biereth is closing in on a move from Sturm Graz to Monaco. The Gunners sold the 21-year-old to the Austrian club last summer when Edu still worked as sporting director at the Emirates Stadium.
Monaco look set to pay Sturm Graz £10.8m plus a further £1.75m in add-ons to secure the services of Biereth.
And, according to the Evening Standard, Arsenal will bank a seven-figure sum if the deal goes through as they inserted a significant sell-on clause into the deal when they cashed in on the star.
Man Utd offer expected
Lille are expected to offer striker Jonathan David to Manchester United, according to GIVEMESPORT. The 24-year-old Canada international has netted 17 goals in 27 matches this season but is out of contract in the summer.
United have struggled for form in front of goal this season and have found the back of the net just 23 times in 20 Premier League matches.
Chelsea and Arsenal make enquiries
Arsenal and Chelsea have both enquired about Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran and have requested to know the conditions of a sale, according to Caught Offside.
But they will face competition from Barcelona, Napoli and Bayern Munich, who have all made contact with the Villans over a transfer.
Paris Saint-Germain appear to be leading the transfer battle, however, and are said to be readying a bid for £60million.
Arsenal move for Isak gathers pace
Arenal’s pursuit of Alexander Isak is gathering pace after the Newcastle striker netted against the Gunners in the Carabao Cup this week.
According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal will revive their interest in the Sweden international but will hold off until the end of the season to thrash out a deal.
Newcastle may demand more than £100million for Isak, and Arsenal could meet the valuation after reining in their spending last summer.
Man Utd exciting Rashford swap
Manchester United and Napoli are in talks over a swap deal involving Marcus Rashford and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, according to L’Equipe.
Rashford appears to have come to the end of his time at Old Trafford after revealing last month that he is ready for a new challenge.
Kvaratskhelia has starred for Napoli in recent seasons and is attracting interest from a host of clubs in the Premier League.
