Zinedine Zidane holds immense respect at Real Madrid, a status earned from his legendary career both as a player and a coach. His strong relationship with club president Florentino PĆ©rez ensures that Zidaneā€™s recommendations are always taken seriously. During his coaching tenure, Zidane played a key role in many of the clubā€™s transfer dealings, although one particular deal didnā€™t come to fruition. Zidane had repeatedly suggested signing Olympique Lyonnais striker Rayan Cherki, but the club ultimately did not pursue the transfer.

Currently, Cherkiā€™s situation at Lyon is uncertain, and reports from Fabrizio Romano suggest that he could be available for 22.5 million euros in the winter transfer market, which is considered a reasonable price for the young striker. However, Real Madridā€™s management believes there is no immediate need for Cherki, as his position is already well-covered in Carlo Ancelottiā€™s squad. The clubā€™s current focus is on strengthening and renewing the defense, not on acquiring another forward.

Madrid believes its attacking lineup, featuring Vinicius Junior, MbappĆ©, Bellingham, and Rodrygo Goes, is already one of the best in the world, making the signing of a new striker a low priority. Instead, the clubā€™s top priority is reinforcing the defense, with Trent Alexander-Arnold being their main target. According to Telemadrid, a Real Madrid delegation is set to visit Liverpool soon to finalize the deal. Alexander-Arnold has already agreed to join Madrid, and while the final decision depends on Liverpool, the transfer is expected to go through either this winter or in the Summer
