‘Complete liability’: Chelsea fans blame just one player for Gvardiol’s equaliser

Man City managed to score an equaliser at the end of the first half vs Chelsea. Robert Sanchez saved the first shot by Matheus Nunes, but could do nothing about Gvardiol’s tap-in.

It seemed at first that Gvardiol was in an obvious offside – however, he unexpectedly was kept onside by… Noni Madueke, who also failed to mark Man City left-back properly.

Despite scoring a quick opener, Madueke really hasn’t been impressive in the first half neither offensively nor defensively – so it’s no wonder Chelsea fans are mad at him:

“How can Madueke both offer no defensive cover and play an entire team onside in the same game? Get him off at HT – complete liability in this form”

“Madueke played city onside to mark Gvardiol and he still let Gvardiol out run him and score ????”

“Noni Madueke playing everyone on. Didn’t once check to see where the line was…”

“WHAT IS THIS DEFENSIVE LINE?????? Madueke ffs”
