👑Arsenal suffer major transfer blow as David Ornstein drops update no fan wanted to hear

Transfer expert David Ornstein has dealt a major blow to Arsenal fans with his latest update about their pursuit of a top target.
Arsenal’s Transfer Plans Hit Another Snag as Nypan Decision Delays Potential Move
With just four days remaining in the January transfer window, Arsenal are yet to add any new signings to their squad as they continue their pursuit of the Premier League title. The Gunners are reportedly targeting a new striker, with Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins being their top priority. However, recent reports indicate that a deal for Watkins remains unlikely, leaving Arsenal fans concerned about the club’s lack of reinforcements during this critical period.
Adding to Arsenal’s woes, renowned journalist David Ornstein has revealed that the club is set to miss out on another player they had hoped to secure this month. Earlier in the transfer window, Arsenal had reportedly shown strong interest in 18-year-old Norway international Sverre Nypan, who currently plays for Rosenborg in Norway.
Nypan had attracted attention from several top European clubs due to his promising performances at such a young age, with Arsenal viewing him as a potential future starting player. January was seen as an ideal time to make a move for the talented midfielder, as it coincided with the Norwegian off-season, allowing Nypan to potentially make a switch before the start of the new season.
However, Ornstein’s latest update reveals that Nypan has now decided to delay any potential move and will remain with Rosenborg until the end of the current season. The Norwegian domestic season runs from March until November, meaning that it could be another year before Nypan is available for transfer. Nevertheless, there is still hope for Arsenal, as a move in the summer remains a possibility.
This latest setback leaves Arsenal facing further challenges in their bid to strengthen the squad in the closing days of the window. With their focus shifting to potential summer targets, it remains to be seen whether Mikel Arteta will be able to bring in reinforcements before the end of January.
Should Sverre Nypan decide to leave Rosenborg in the summer, Arsenal remain the most likely destination for the talented midfielder. The Gunners have a strong relationship with the Norwegian club, which could facilitate a move. Additionally, the prospect of playing alongside national teammate Martin Ødegaard at Arsenal would be a significant pull for the 18-year-old.
Nypan has made 60 appearances for Rosenborg since joining in January 2022, contributing 13 goals and 11 assists. His performances, particularly in the summer, have not gone unnoticed. Nypan impressed during a friendly match against Manchester United in July, where he started and helped Rosenborg secure a 1-0 victory. This outing highlighted his potential, and it’s clear why top European clubs, including Arsenal, are keeping an eye on him.
With a possible move in the summer, Arsenal’s ties with Nypan’s current club and the opportunity to play alongside Ødegaard make them the frontrunners for his signature.
