Erling Haaland’s Dad Fires Back at Arsenal After Myles Lewis-Skelly’s Brutal Celebration in 5-1 Thrashing

Erling Haaland’s father, Alfie Haaland, has fired back at Arsenal after the club appeared to mock the Manchester City striker following their dominant 5-1 victory at the Emirates.
Arsenal youngster Myles Lewis-Skelly stole the show by scoring his first Premier League goal in the match – and he made sure to send a message to Haaland while celebrating. The 18-year-old copied Haaland’s famous meditation celebration, a move that many fans believe was aimed at the City striker after their previous clash earlier in the season.
After the final whistle, Arsenal’s official X (formerly Twitter) account posted a picture of Lewis-Skelly’s celebration with the caption: “This Team”.
It didn’t take long for Alfie Haaland, who played for Manchester City between 2000 and 2003, to hit back at Arsenal’s dig. Replying to their post, he wrote:
“This Team that wins everything. Ehhhhh, not.”
His comment appeared to mock Arsenal’s lack of silverware in recent years, as they have fallen short in their Premier League title battles against City.
Myles Lewis-Skelly and Erling Haaland first clashed back in September when Arsenal and City played out a 2-2 draw at the Etihad.
After the match, tensions boiled over between Haaland and Arsenal defender Gabriel, with the two facing off in a heated argument. As Lewis-Skelly stepped in to back his teammate, Haaland dismissively gestured for him to go away and even asked, “Who the f** are you?”*
Fast forward four months, and Lewis-Skelly got the perfect response. After scoring against City on Sunday, he copied Haaland’s famous celebration in front of the home crowd, making it clear he hadn’t forgotten their previous exchange.
The teenager was given a standing ovation when he was substituted in the 90th minute, capping off a night to remember.
Arsenal’s Dominant Victory Over City
The Gunners put in a stunning performance to demolish Pep Guardiola’s side.
Martin Ødegaard opened the scoring early after capitalizing on a mistake by Manuel Akanji.
Haaland briefly brought City level in the second half.
Thomas Partey restored Arsenal’s lead just a minute later with a deflected effort.
Lewis-Skelly then made it 3-1 with his first Premier League goal.
Kai Havertz and Ethan Nwaneri added two more to complete the rout.
It was a night filled with drama, celebrations, and plenty of talking points, with Haaland at the center of it all once again.
It wasn’t just Lewis-Skelly who appeared to mock Haaland on the night.
After Arsenal took the lead, Gabriel, a defender for Arsenal, was also observed laughing in the City striker’s face. To make matters worse, he stopped to smile at Haaland as he went up the field to join his colleagues in celebrating.
Despite the heavy defeat, Haaland managed to score his 19th Premier League goal of the season. He is now just two goals behind Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, who leads the
race for the Golden Boot.
