Liverpool is pursuing the acquisition of two elite strikers following the green light for Darwin Nunez’s sale.

With approval granted for Nunez’s departure, the club has turned its attention to securing two top-tier forwards.

Liverpool is exploring the possibility of selling Nunez, with new reports shedding light on his potential move to AC Milan.

Additionally, TEAMtalk has revealed that the club is keeping an eye on two high-profile strikers as potential replacements.

Since his £85 million move from Benfica in 2022, Nunez has struggled to meet expectations. Following Arne Slot’s appointment, he lost his spot as the main striker to Diogo Jota.

With Jota sidelined due to a rib injury and focusing on recovery, Luis Diaz has taken on a crucial attacking role.

Slot was not entirely convinced by Nunez during initial training sessions and has since voiced dissatisfaction with his performances.

As a result, Liverpool is open to his departure, though a January transfer remains difficult. However, a summer move is more plausible, prompting the club to explore potential alternatives.

Among those being considered is Alexander Isak, though Newcastle’s valuation is deemed excessively high.

Marcus Thuram has emerged as a key target, with a release clause set at €85 million—considerably lower than Newcastle’s asking price for Isak.

Liverpool finds Inter Milan’s valuation of Thuram reasonable, and while Inter values his contributions, they are open to negotiations that could generate a substantial profit.

Regarding speculation linking Nunez to AC Milan, reports from Italy suggest the Italian side has held direct talks with Liverpool and made a significant offer.

Milan proposed a six-month loan with an obligation to buy in the summer, including a €5 million loan fee and a permanent transfer fee of €45 million at the season’s end.

The total deal would amount to €50 million (£41.5 million), a figure significantly lower than what Liverpool initially spent on Nunez, whose performances in England have not justified such an investment.

Reports indicate that Liverpool is considering whether to accept the offer, though no verified interest from AC Milan in a January transfer has been confirmed.

The financial terms being discussed do not align with Milan’s strategy, as the club is not currently prepared for such a costly deal.

Under new manager Sergio Conceicao, the Rossoneri are prioritizing on-field improvements before making market decisions.

As a result, a January transfer to Milan appears unlikely. However, Liverpool remains open to selling Nunez, with Thuram and Isak seen as viable upgrades.

Meanwhile, Liverpool’s confirmed target Milos Kerkez has changed agents, signaling a likely move in 2025.

Kerkez is now represented by Fali Ramadani’s Lian Sports agency, a switch believed to be a step toward securing a transfer to a major club in future windows.

Liverpool views Kerkez as a potential successor to Andy Robertson, while Manchester United has also expressed interest in the Hungarian player.

“They were very impressive again [vs West Ham],” Lineker said on The Rest is Football podcast.

“They’ve built a significant lead now. Nottingham Forest is in second, which is remarkable.

“I honestly don’t see anyone catching Liverpool now, do you? They seem unstoppable at this stage.”
