Man United made history against Aston Villa and nobody even noticed

On Sunday, Manchester United made history against Aston Villa, but not many people paid any attention.
With a game-winning play off the bench by Scott McTominay, the Red Devils won for the third time in a row.
Douglas Luiz tied the score after Rasmus Hojlund had opened the scoring with his 11th goal of the year.
Although Harry Maguire was crowned Man of the Match for his outstanding defensive performance, McTominay emerged victorious.
However, it was United’s first Premier League match at Villa Park, as if they selected a uniform choice never seen before (1957).
The white away strip that United usually wears with white shorts and white stockings was on display.
But since Villa also wore white shorts, it was decided that there was a clash of uniforms.
This required United to wear red shorts, something they had not done since the team’s inaugural appearance in the European Cup semi-finals versus Real Madrid 67 years prior.

Liverpool started playing all red, and it’s said that United’s choice to wear red shorts—which they had never done before—was the catalyst for the change.
It was initially tried in a league matchup versus Bolton Wanderers, according to UnitedKits.com.
United used its red home uniform for all three games; prior to this term, they had never worn red shorts and a white shirt.
During the exciting 3-3 Champions League tie against Galatasaray back in November, United wore the red shorts with their alternate strip.
Next Sunday, the Red Devils will play their first game back at Old Trafford against Luton Town.
