Arsenal receive huge Jamal Musiala transfer update after Mikel Arteta plan revealed Latest Arsenal transfer news with Bayern Munich

Arsenal have been handed an update on Jamal Musiala’s future at Bayern Munich after identifying him as a target in the summer transfer window. Due to profit and sustainability concerns, the Gunners had to navigate the most recent trading period very carefully, but that did not stop them from at least discussing marquee signings.
Riccardo Calafiori, David Raya, Mikel Merino and Tommy Setford were the actual permanent arrivals, but internally, Edu and Arteta wanted a unique attacking addition which resulted in Nico Williams and Musiala emerging as options, as per The Times.
The Athletic Bilbao star was a target for most Premier League clubs and though he looked destined to join Barcelona after helping Spain win Euro 2024, he has remained in the Basque country.
Musiala on the other hand, was briefly linked to Liverpool, though an asking price in the region of £100million being set seemed to scare off any potential suitors. One of the reasons that Arsenal were interested was likely because there is a high likelihood that stance could change significantly in 12 months’ time.
The Germany international sees his contract expire at Allianz Arena following the 2025/2026 season and thus if he hasn’t agreed an extension, next summer could be the last chance for Bayern to take in funds from his potential permanent departure.
That scenario playing out currently does not look likely, with Musiala appearing very happy in Munich, however the latest update from Bayern director Christoph Freund hints it is entirely possible he does leave and thus a return to England cannot be ruled out.
