šŸŽÆšŸŽÆI donā€™t think he has itā€™: Liverpool fans discuss if Harvey Elliott has a future under Arne Slot

One of the few Liverpool players who has not benefitted from the arrival of Arne Slot is Harvey Elliott.

Even though the new managerā€™s tactics include a No.10 role Elliott prefers, the 21-year-old has not started a single Premier League game. His involvement in the league has been limited to 75 minutes across nine appearances so far

Unfortunately, Harvey does not use the rare chances he receives. His last game was the FA Cup defeat to Plymouth in which he gave away the decisive penalty.

So, the question is as follows: does Harvey Elliott have a future at Liverpool with Arne Slot in charge?

Some Liverpool fans are afraid so, although others are a bit more optimistic.

rmp266: ā€œSlot doesnā€™t fancy him, simple as that. Slower and not as physical as he prefers. Sad as heā€™s a baller when in full flow but there were always gonna be casualties when a manager changesā€

dukkha_dukkha_goose: ā€œAnd Slot has a reputation for riding his favoured starters and being cutthroat in pushing out even fan favourites. I know Harvey wants to stay, but Iā€™d be surprised if he does long-term.ā€

13_Polo: ā€œIt feels like every time weā€™ve seen him this season heā€™s looked off, losing the ball and making errors. I do like him, but he hasnā€™t been at his bestā€

yellow627: ā€œI think itā€™s unfair to say that heā€™s been poor when heā€™s barely played. Slot clearly has his reasons for not playing him, but Iā€™d still like to see what Elliott can do when given a chance to play with the first teamers before I write him off

rkaminky: ā€œI donā€™t think he has it for Slotā€™s system. Slot necessitates hold-up play and the ability to beat a man on a dribble to open space. Unfortunately, those are two of Harveyā€™s biggest weaknesses. Love the lad, but I just donā€™t think the team is set up for him to succeed in the same way.ā€

SirSwix: ā€œJust think Slot wants way more physicality in that role compared to what Elliot offers.ā€

Themnor: ā€œI donā€™t think we will see a whole lot more of Elliot this season, but I hope we can see him level up next season and stay healthy. The injury really set him back or I think he wouldā€™ve seen a lot more play this year
