Liverpool icon gives candid advice to FSG to finalize the transfer of Mohamed Salah heir who always plays well

Liverpool will eventually need to find a replacement for Mohamed Salah, and a legend in the group feels that a dependable Premier League player would be the ideal choice.
John Barnes, a legendary Liverpool player, has suggested a potential deal in the future that could result in Mohamed Salah’s replacement. Because of his comparable profile to the legendary Egyptian, the former Reds winger thinks Pedro Neto of Wolves would fit in at Liverpool and that the player’s owners, FSG, should go for the player.
The 23-year-old Neto, who was connected to other major teams, played well in the Premier League. He has contributed to 10 goals in 14 league games this season.
Having grown at Wolves, he was a compatriot of Diogo Jota and would join Alisson and other Portuguese-speaking players at the club. It seems that some people are starting to think that Liverpool should consider making a summer transfer move for him.
Regarding the Portugal international, Barnes stated to MyBettingSites: “Peter Neto has always been a favourite of mine.” He’s always appealed to me. Pedro Neto is the kind of winger that Liverpool would love to have on staff

“Liverpool would benefit more from him than any other team. He’s swift and direct. Similar to Mo Salah in that he always plays well and is straightforward.
Additionally, Barnes brought out Neto’s recent troubles with injuries, which he overcame to produce a solid performance this season. “It is evident that he has the ability to play for any of the best teams, but his injury problems have hindered him,” he said.
Transfermarkt reports that Neto missed 52 games for both club and country because of a knee injury he acquired towards the end of 2020–21. Just six months later, an ankle injury kept him out of another 27 games. Though he hasn’t yet sustained an injury in 2024, a hamstring ailment has kept him out of nine additional games this season.
ACCORDING TO LIVERPOOL.COM
Liverpool will ultimately need to deal with the issue of replacing Mohamed Salah, according to Liverpool.com. The best case scenario, though, is for the team to have a replacement in the squad ready for when he does finally decide to quit.
Given his track record in the Premier League and his current form, Pedro Neto may be a good alternative. This is comparable to the Reds’ acquisition of Jota, who was being considered alongside Ismaïla Sarr at the same time. Despite the worrisome nature of his injuries, he seems to be doing very well.
