after defeating thomas tuchel’s team 3-0 last weekend, his team is now five points ahead of bayern munich, the defending champions, in the bundesliga. r.l.sliga.

Leverkusen have won an impressive 17 of their 21 league games this season, playing sensational football at times.

But Liverpool are not the only team eyeing a move for Alonso, who is also attracting interest from Real Madrid and Chelsea.

Not to mention Bayern who are increasingly likely to part ways with Tuchel in the summer and want to get the jump on the Premier League club in the battle to secure Alonso’s managerial services, according to The Times.

The favoured permanent candidate is Alonso, a 2014–17 Bayern player; Hansi Flick is also connected to the position.

If the World Cup champion chooses to leave Leverkusen in the summer, it looks like he will have to choose between his former teams.

After his team’s consecutive losses to Leverkusen in the league and Lazio in the Champions League, Tuchel is under increasing pressure.

They were eliminated from the Champions League after losing 1-0 in Rome on Wednesday.

Following the match, Bayern’s sporting director Christoph Freund made the following statement: “It goes without saying that Tuchel is having a hard time with the situation, which is tough on all of us. All of us are in the same boat. We will overcome this together, even though it is not simple. That’s what we want to achieve.”
