Liverpool winger Rio Ngumoha, just 16 years old, made history in the Premier League as he netted the decisive goal in his team’s 3-2 victory over Newcastle on Matchday 2.

At the moment of scoring, Ngumoha was 16 years and 361 days old, making him the second youngest player ever to register a match-winning goal in the competition’s history.

The only player younger was Wayne Rooney, who achieved the feat back in 2002 while playing for Everton, at the age of 16 years and 360 days — just a single day younger than Ngumoha.

This milestone highlights the winger’s huge potential and underlines Liverpool’s faith in their academy talents.
