🚨🏟️Cole Palmer’s Cryptic Comment on Kobbie Mainoo Post Gets Fans Talking

Cole Palmer left a cryptic comment on Kobbie Mainoo’s latest social media post – and it’s got fans talking.

Mainoo remained a Manchester United player beyond Monday’s transfer deadline despite reportedly requesting to leave the club on loan.

Manager Ruben Amorim stated that he wanted to keep the 20-year-old midfielder, despite not picking him in either of United’s opening two Premier League games.

He played the second half of the 3-2 win over Burnley last weekend but they were his first Premier League minutes of the season.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Mainoo was not named in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia.

He is instead working hard back at United’s Carrington training ground as he attempts to get back into Amorim’s preferred starting XI.

Following his latest Instagram post, there was an intriguing reply from Palmer – who is himself on international duty with England.

The Chelsea attacking midfielder wrote: “3 my guy.”

There was another notable photo within the same post which caused fans to begin discussing its potential meaning.

It featured a screenshot from the film ‘Whiplash’ – where, in one scene (and in basic terms), the lead character works so hard that it earns him his place back in the core position of his ensemble.

Do Chelsea want to sign Mainoo?

Chelsea did deal directly with Manchester United this summer through their £40 million move for Alejandro Garnacho.

They also signed Jadon Sancho on loan from Old Trafford last year, while United completed a move to sign Blues midfielder Mason Mount in 2023.

But according to the Daily Mail, Enzo Maresca’s side did not make an attempt to sign Mainoo before the most recent window shut.

It is claimed that, instead, Tottenham, Aston Villa and Everton all expressed interest in bringing the England international in on loan.

All three sides succeeded in bringing in midfielders in the final days of the transfer window, with Spurs signing Xavi Simons, Villa acquiring Harvey Elliott and Everton securing a deal for Merlin Rohl.

Chelsea loaned Facundo Buonanotte from Brighton, though that was their sole midfield acquisition during the window.

With Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez and Romeo Lavia able to be called upon, as well as returning Strasbourg loanee Andrey Santos, Maresca clearly feels he has enough to get Chelsea through to the end of the season – or at least until January.
