LIVERPOOL
Liverpool compete with Manchester United and Arsenal to sign the wonderkid dubbed the “next Toni Kroos.
Liverpool and Manchester United are now locked in a fierce battle to sign German wonderkid Kennet Eichhorn from Hertha Berlin, as competition intensifies for one of Europe’s brightest young prospects. The 16-year-old midfield prodigy, dubbed Hertha’s “rough diamond,” has attracted huge attention across the continent, with his current market value believed to be around £17 million.
Eichhorn has taken German football by storm this season after being handed his first-team debut by coach Stefan Leitl. Originally brought in to cover for injured senior players, the young defensive midfielder quickly exceeded expectations, earning a permanent place in the starting lineup and making eight appearances in Germany’s second division so far.
His maturity, composure, and tactical awareness have made him one of the most talked-about teenagers in Europe. Reports from Bild and Mundo Deportivo suggest that Hertha Berlin are open to offers in the region of £17 million — a figure that has alerted a host of top European clubs.
Alongside Arsenal and Manchester United, several other giants, including Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, RB Leipzig, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Bayer Leverkusen, have all sent scouts to watch Eichhorn in action at the Olympiastadion.
In the Premier League, Liverpool and Manchester City are also closely monitoring his progress, with representatives from multiple English clubs reportedly in attendance at Hertha matches in recent weeks.
Eichhorn’s style of play has drawn comparisons to Toni Kroos, thanks to his intelligent movement, ability to dictate tempo, and exceptional reading of the game. His coach, Stefan Leitl, spoke highly of the youngster, saying:
“I don’t care whether he’s 16 or 17. Eichhorn is a huge talent for Hertha, and it’s obvious that he’s destined to become a very special player in the future.”
Despite extending his contract with Hertha in July, the club faces a tough challenge in keeping hold of him as Europe’s elite circle. With his rapid development and immense potential, Kennet Eichhorn has emerged as one of the most exciting and sought-after young players in German football — and the race for his signature is only jus
t heating up.
