Europa League draw recap: Liverpool, West Ham, Brighton and Rangers find out last 16 opponents

Liverpool was one of the teams to learn their opponents when the Europa League quarterfinals were drawn on Friday morning in Nyon, Switzerland.

Three Premier League teams were included in the pot: Brighton, who are playing in Europe for the first time this season, West Ham, the UEFA Conference League champions from last season, and three-time winners Liverpool.

Leading Bundesliga team Bayer Leverkusen, Italian team AC Milan, and Scottish team Rangers were all included in the draw.

In the round of 16, Liverpool will play Sparta Prague of the Czech Republic. Jurgen Klopp’s team will travel to Prague for the first leg of the match and then return to Anfield for the second leg.

Daniele De Rossi’s Roma will play Brighton in what may be the match of the round.

While West Ham faced German team Freiburg, Rangers faced the formidable Portuguese team Benfica in a crucial test.
