Jurgen Klopp makes demand to Liverpool fans after noticing common theme at Anfield

Following Liverpool’s FA Cup victory against Southampton, manager Jurgen Klopp made a demand of the supporters.

Following their victory in the Carabao Cup on Sunday, the Reds turned their attention to the FA Cup, and on Wednesday night they hosted Southampton of the Championship at Anfield.

Just before halftime, Liverpool took the lead thanks to 18-year-old Lewis Koumas, the son of former Reds player Jason, as they withstood an early storm from the Saints.

Another young player, Jayden Danns, scored a brace in the second half to give the home team a 3-0 victory.

After the game, Liverpool supporters’ incessant yells of “shoot” everytime Joe Gomez had the ball at his feet infuriated Reds manager Klopp.

233 appearances later at age 26, Gomez still hasn’t found the back of the net.

Fans have therefore frequently pushed Gomez to shoot anytime he had the ball.

In response, Klopp stated, “Joey, come on. Conor isn’t there, and Trent isn’t there, obviously.” He’s playing the six now, aye, aye, aye. He played in a really insane manner. As amusing as it is, may I ask the people? Shoot. Let the boy alone; one day he’ll shoot and seize the opportunity on his own.

I’ll be a little irate if he shoots from 40 yards just because someone is calling, but what a game, what a boy. utterly remarkable

Gomez discussed the possibility that Klopp will change his mind about leaving the team at the end of the current season after winning the Carabao Cup on Sunday.

“Nah, definitely not,” he replied. Considering his length of stay, I believe he is aware that he has exhausted all options. He has triumphed over all. We all accept his decision and show respect for it.

He is among the smartest men we have ever met, and he always means it when he says he’s ready. We must treat him fairly; we cannot linger on the current situation.

“Everyone knows about the importance and we get that aura in team meetings right now,” Gomez went on.

“We simply want to give it our all for him because we know it’s his last chance. We always have, but now that the finish line is in sight, it emphasises things much more. It’s unique, and let’s hope it’s the first of several this year.
