Gary Neville Calls Out Man Utd Star for What He Did vs Everton
Gary Neville has blasted one Manchester United player for what he did during the Premier League clash against Everton.
The Red Devils welcomed Everton to Old Trafford on Monday night as they looked to continue their five-match unbeaten run.
With 13 minutes on the clock, United’s task appeared to get easier after Everton were reduced to 10 men.
Midfielder Idrissa Gueye was shown a straight red card after he appeared to slap teammate Michael Keane during a heated altercation.
However, despite playing with one player less, Everton went in front in the 29th minute thanks to a brilliant goal by Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
In the second half, Ruben Amorim put on the likes of Mason Mount, Diogo Dalot and Kobbie Mainoo in a bid to change the match.
However, David Moyes’ men stood firm to secure a vital 1-0 win.
As a result, the Toffees moved ahead of Liverpool in the Premier League table as they now sit in 11th place. Meanwhile, United remained 10th.
Speaking on commentary during the match, United legend Neville was far from impressed with the performance of Luke Shaw.
During the second half, Neville said: “I’m not saying it’s easy playing against ten men, you have to play with some urgency, you have to put as many players as possible forward, into forward areas. You’ve still got Yoro, Shaw and De Ligt largely playing behind the ball.
“Shaw is starting to move forward a little bit, but he’s ambling forward, let’s be clear. He’s been bugging me for the last 20 minutes. Look at him.”

He continued: “You can’t do that. You should be running forward every single time, I don’t care. Yoro, I have more sympathy with because he’s not as comfortable on the ball, but Shaw shouldn’t be playing there. It’s a waste of time, I don’t care. Honestly, what he’s doing there, you’re not conning anybody.”
Neville went on to praise Everton’s front three and their ability to win free-kicks to relieve pressure.
He added: “Everton’s front three have done a good job in holding the ball up and winning free-kicks but also with their defensive work.”
Looking ahead, United are back in Premier League action this weekend when they take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday afternoon.
