JURGEN KLOPP’S REVEALS ONE OF HIS BIGGEST SUCCESS IN LIVERPOOL

Jurgen Klopp With Liverpool hit the jackpot on “genius” talent who’s worth more than Nunez
This player, who signed for £0, might be Klopp’s biggest success on Merseyside.

Jurgen Klopp’s transfer plan at Liverpool has long been praised for its cunning and effectiveness; players like Sadio Mane, Andy Robertson, and Mohamed Salah, to mention a few, were recruited for modest fees and went on to become elite players.
But thanks to the German’s influence, the Anfield team has surged back to the top of the European game. As a result, they have occasionally made large purchases, most notably Virgil van Dijk and Alisson Becker, after Philippe Coutinho’s £146 million sale to Barcelona proved to be a turning point.
Darwin Nunez, a Uruguayan forward, was a talented but raw player who raised eyebrows when he signed a club record for £85 million in 2022. He was criticised for his wastefulness, missing numerous opportunities in 2022–2023 and only scoring nine goals in the Premier League.
Though Klopp praised him for his “unstoppable” attacking potential, he has been nothing short of spectacular this season, contributing 31 goals from only 27 games across all competitions. He has the makings of a true threat.
Sure, he’s a big player for Liverpool, but he’s not the best; Trent Alexander-Arnold, for example, has a higher market value than the 24-year-old.

The transfer value of Trent Alexander-Arnold in 2024
Alexander-Arnold, hailed as a “genius” by Reds reporter Neil Jones, made his debut as a youngster back in 2017 and soon became one of the team’s most promising academy prospects since Steven Gerrard’s rise to prominence.
Now that he has made 302 appearances for the team of his youth, he might be the best of them all. With 82 assists and 18 goals, he is tied with Robertson for the record for most assists a defender in Premier League history.
According to FBref, the £180k-per-week player is in the top 16% of full-backs in Europe’s top five leagues for goals scored, the top 1% for assists, the top 2% for progressive passes, the top 9% for successful take-ons, and the top 13% for interceptions per 90.
His market value is estimated to be £47 million, making him the third-highest full-back in the world at the moment. Football Transfers has done the maths and concluded that he is simply an amazing player with unrivalled ball-playing abilities and vision that an owl would tip its hat to.
Additionally, it is a higher amount than his South American teammate Nunez’s £44 million mark. Football Transfers tend to be conservative when it comes to assigning values, but the fact remains that Alexander-Arnold has been instrumental in helping Liverpool win titles like the Premier League and the Champions League.
The finest aspect? He still has so much to give, and there’s a good chance the vice-captain of the team will continue to burgeon and glean further honours in the years to come.
