LIVERPOOL
Jurgen Klopp praises 5 Liverpool players who has not missed a game due to injury since 2023/2024
This season, Liverpool has struggled mightily with injuries, and, astonishingly, Jurgen Klopp has only managed to see five of his senior players avoid missing time due to fitness issues.
Another season, again another Reds injury story that seems too familiar.
Throughout the campaign, no department has been spared when it comes to injuries; players have been welcomed back, only for others to step in at the worst possible time.
With nine games in the next 28 days, Klopp will be relieved that certain players from Liverpool are expected to return following the international break.
It is remarkable to learn that only five players have avoided injury thus far, even if the manager has occasionally had one arm tied behind his back. This has opened doors for others.
Those five players are Adrian, Virgil Van Dijk, Jarell Quansah, Harvey Elliott and Luis Diaz.
You could be correct that several of them have been forced to skip games this season, but injuries are not one of the causes.
After his father was abducted in Colombia, Diaz missed two games for personal reasons, and Van Dijk missed three because of illness and suspension.
Even so, it should come as no surprise that, with 2,992 and 2,717 minutes played, respectively, Van Dijk and Diaz have played the most minutes of any Red player thus far this year.
Elliott, who has been in all 46 games thus far, has also been in the squad longer than any other player.
The Reds are still in the running for three trophies this season, despite Klopp’s forced decision to push players much closer to the red zone than he would have wanted due to a string of injuries.
The fact that Liverpool is where they are because of their squad is impressive considering that 21 players—for a total of 285 games—have missed due to injuries
Sadly, there are a lot of long-term injuries, so the total will only rise. Let’s hope Liverpool can stop the bleeding between now and May!
