Liverpool fans have seen enough from one player and name his replacement after Man Utd draw

Liverpool fans are growing frustrated with one of their key players in the aftermath of their draw against Manchester United.

The team’s failure to reclaim the top spot in the Premier League standings following their 2-2 draw at Old Trafford has intensified the scrutiny on the player in question.

Although Mohamed Salah salvaged a point with a late penalty conversion, discontent among fans persists.

Luis Diaz provided the opening goal in the first half, while Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo found the net for the hosts, including a remarkable strike from inside the centre circle by Fernandes.

Despite Liverpool’s recent 4-3 defeat against Manchester United in the FA Cup, they struggled to find their rhythm in the second half and dropped crucial points in their title chase.

Discontent among fans surfaced after the match, with many voicing their desire for Harvey Elliott to be preferred over Dominik Szoboszlai for the remainder of the season. Szoboszlai’s underwhelming performance against Manchester United left Liverpool supporters frustrated, prompting calls for a change in the starting lineup.

One X user wrote: “Elliott needs to be starting over Szoboszlai, shouldn’t even be a debate.”

A second tweeted: “I do NOT want to see Szoboszlai start ahead of Elliott again this season.”

A third added: “If I see Szoboszlai start one game over Elliott I will lose my mind.”

A fourth also exclaimed: “There is no way Szoboszlai should start ahead of Elliott. A lot of you Liverpool fans are just delusional.”

A fifth then said: “Harvey Elliott should start over Szoboszlai for the remaining premier league games.”

Another one commented: “Start Harvey for Szoboszlai against Palace. He deserves to start. Szoboszlai doesn’t.”

Liverpool find themselves tied on points with Arsenal in the Premier League standings but lag behind due to an inferior goal difference. Both teams currently have 71 points, while Manchester City trails closely behind in third place with 70 points.

With seven league games left in the season, Jurgen Klopp’s team will resume their campaign on April 14th against Crystal Palace.
