Arsenal and Man City put on alert as terror group ‘threatens to attack Champions League quarter-finals’

The Champions League quarterfinals this week, which feature teams like Manchester City, Arsenal, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich, have been threatened by ISIS.
In Europe’s top club competition, there are four matches on Tuesday and Wednesday. This evening, Arsenal will host Bayern Munich, while City will go to Real Madrid. Then, on the same night when Atletico Madrid plays Borussia Dortmund, PSG and Barcelona square off.
On Monday morning, the Al Azaim Foundation, the entity responsible for conveying messages on behalf of the Islamic State, issued a threat to target all stadiums hosting Champions League quarter-final matches.
The poster depicted a menacing image of a gunman alongside the names of the Parc des Princes, the Santiago Bernabeu, the Metropolitano Stadium, and the Emirates Stadium.
Additionally, the banner ominously featured the phrase “Kill them all,” signaling the terrorist group’s confirmed intentions for violence.

Over 3,000 security professionals will be on hand for the two midweek games in the capital, where 8,000 City and Dortmund supporters are anticipated to attend together.
The threat follows one from a publication linked to ISIS, Sarh al-Khilafah, about the recent Bayern vs. Dortmund match at the Allianz Arena.

Authorities determined that there was “no specific evidence of danger”; nevertheless, security measures were intensified for the match.
Additionally, in the wake of a terror attack at Crocus City Hall in Moscow resulting in the loss of 143 lives, German Interior Minister Nancy Faeser announced the implementation of temporary border controls for the forthcoming Euro 2024 tournament in Germany.
