Arne Slot finally breaks silence on Liverpool job links with four-word response to journalist

Feyenoord manager Arne Slot has been questioned for the first time regarding a possible switch to Liverpool.
Following the announcement in January that Jurgen Klopp would depart the club at the conclusion of the 2023/24 season, Liverpool has been actively seeking his successor.
In recent months, a slew of names, including Xabi Alonso, Roberto De Zerbi, Ruben Amorim, Thomas Tuchel, and Thomas Frank, have been associated with the Anfield managerial position.
Despite Xabi Alonso’s announcement last month that he will remain at Bayer Leverkusen and recent indications suggesting that Ruben Amorim’s move to Liverpool is improbable, recent reports have elevated 45-year-old Arne Slot as the frontrunner to succeed Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool manager in the summer.
Prior to Feyenoord’s match against Go Ahead Eagles, Slot was questioned about the rumors by Sky Sports’ Gary Cotterill.
Cotterill said: “You’re in the news.” Slot replied: “I am.”
The Sky Sports reporter then added: “You said you wanted to go to the Premier League, is there a possibility?”
The Dutchman replied: “I can’t deny that.”
Cotterill continued: “Liverpool want you,” to which Slot simply said: “But tonight we play Go Ahead Eagles.” You can watch the exchange down below

After Liverpool’s disappointing 2-0 loss to Everton on Wednesday night, captain Virgil van Dijk broke the silence regarding Arne Slot. Van Dijk remarked,
“I believe Slot is one of the top Dutch coaches currently. With his style of play and philosophy, he could fit in as a Liverpool coach.
However, from what I’ve read and heard, nothing is finalized yet. We’ll see how things unfold. Our focus for now is on the remainder of this season, but next season is still a long way off.”
Liverpool’s hopes for a successful final season under Klopp have been dashed by their recent string of poor performances, leaving them with a monumental task to surpass Arsenal and Manchester City for the Premier League title.
