LIVERPOOL
NEWS: Liverpool take solid steps to sign Bundesliga champion star for $55M to replace Joe Matip whose contract expires in June

Liverpool is keen to sign Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie after the current season ends.
The 22-year-old has established himself as a key player and has grown into an essential part of the German club’s first team this season. There have been speculations that Hincapie would be departing Leverkusen since the squad won the title.

Liverpool is apparently making swift moves to recruit the Ecuadorian international, but they will have to pay a premium of almost €55 million, according to a Fichajes report.
If Liverpool is willing to pay that much for him, it will be interesting to see. With his established career in the Bundesliga and his physical and technical attributes, Hincapie is a good fit for the Premier League. The 22-year-old can play central defence and left back due to his versatility.

Piero Hincapie will take Joel Matip’s place at Liverpool, right?
The current season’s contract with Joel Matip expires, so Liverpool will need to find a worthy replacement. Matip has been a key player for them over the years, and Hincapie would make a great substitute.
The Ecuadorian international has the skill and potential to make the investment worthwhile in the following seasons, despite the fact that his stated asking price may seem exorbitant at this time.
By going to the Premier League, he will have the exciting opportunity to prove himself in English football. It can be tough to turn down the opportunity to play for Liverpool, one of the biggest teams in the world.

Liverpool needs to bolster their defence because this season they have looked to be very thin at the back. Signing a centre defender should be one of their top priorities during the summer transfer window.l
