Liverpool fans made their feelings clear following their 4-2 victory over Tottenham

Despite Liverpool’s 4-2 victory over Tottenham, fans have expressed frustration with a particular player. The Reds bounced back to winning ways in the Premier League with goals from Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, Cody Gakpo, and Harvey Elliott securing the three points at Anfield on Sunday.

However, despite the win, online supporters directed criticism towards Darwin Nunez, who came on as a substitute in the second half for Luis Diaz but failed to make a significant impact.

Nunez’s lackluster performance drew ire from Liverpool fans on social media platforms, who voiced their discontent with his contribution.

One X user wrote: “Darwin Nunez. The patience is slowly starting to be lost.”

A second tweeted: “60 seconds that sum up Darwin Nunez. Absolutely messes up a 2-on-1 break, and then, even though he actually plays the correct pass, is offside on another.”

A third slammed: “Uncomfortable conversations need to be had about Darwin Nunez, he’s cost us in the run in, can’t stay on side and hasn’t delivered as a £75 million striker, he simply doesn’t fit, time to get rid.”

A fourth added: “I don’t rate Darwin Nunez anymore. I was wrong about him.”

Another commented: “I’m not letting Darwin Nunez ruin for me what has been a great performance up until he came on.”

The £85 million forward, Nunez, has featured in 51 matches across all competitions this season, finding the net 18 times.

Despite registering 11 league goals this campaign, there remains skepticism among some fans regarding his performance and contribution to the team.
