Jurgen Klopp will be leaving Liverpool when the 23/24 season draws to a close

Jurgen Klopp has disclosed which Liverpool player he feels hasn’t received sufficient playing time during his final season at Anfield.

Liverpool bounced back from their recent poor form with an impressive 4-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield on Sunday. Goals from Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson, Cody Gakpo, and Harvey Elliott secured the win for the Reds, while Son Heung Min and Richarlison found the net for Ange Postecoglou’s team. Elliott’s goal, a stunning strike from the edge of the area, was a standout moment in the match.

When asked about Elliott’s playing time this season, Klopp responded after the game.

Klopp said: “I’m not sure. That’s up to me, it’s a little bit of moments like this and he was outstanding, outstanding and he has to be as dominant as he was today. Fantastic player, what a goal. I love it. All good.”

Elliott too was also asked whether he would be speaking to the manager about his lack of game time.

He said: “I’m not really one to do that really

“It is my dream to go out and play football, especially in a Liverpool shirt. The games I don’t start, I’m upset and annoyed but I’m here for the team to make sure that when I come on, I make the impact and if I start, I make the impact.”

Elliott added: “Maybe we can have that conversation towards the end but as I said, I’m just honoured and I’m just very grateful for all opportunities he has given me.”

Expanding on Elliott’s performance, Klopp said: “I think in the midfield position, it was probably [in the] top three or four performances of him today – it was really good and the goal was exceptional.

“Everybody needs moments to gain even more confidence. He is [in] a good moment, but that helps, definitely. He worked really hard in the other direction as well, he did really well.”
