Exclusive: Arsenal preparing for Toney bid, but challenging talks still lie ahead

The circumstances surrounding Ivan Toney are becoming more obvious.
Although Arsenal has been eyeing the striker for some time and values him highly, they do not want to make significant financial concessions, at least not in January.
If Eddie Nketiah decides not to leave the Gunners in the current window, that will be especially true.
Nketiah is genuinely wanted by a number of clubs, but no formal approach has been made for him.
He is therefore unlikely to depart at this time unless a very substantial offer for his services comes in.
Going back to Toney, things will be different in the summer as Arsenal plans to put more pressure on him to join.

From Brentford’s perspective, they are aware that the hitman is eager to join the Gunners and won’t let anything get in the way.
At that point, though, they won’t accept anything less than market value either.
While the Bees have put a price tag above £80 million, Arsenal values the player at about £50 million.
There will be a lot of work to be done in the upcoming months, up to the summer, as a result of the negotiation’s likely length.
Finally, in spite of the speculations, Man Utd and Chelsea are not currently planning to sign Ivan Toney. Chelsea and Man Utd are always in communication with Victor Osimhen’s entourage to discuss his potential transfer in the summer.
