MANCHESTER CITY
Only one player has a longer unbeaten run in Premier League history than Rodri

Only one player has a longer unbeaten run in the Premier League than Rodri.
In the Premier League, Rodri has maintained an unbeaten streak spanning 48 games, with only one player boasting a longer run without defeat. Manchester City’s recent 4-0 victory over Fulham further solidified Rodri’s importance to Pep Guardiola’s squad, with City suffering just three losses this season, all of which occurred in Rodri’s absence.
Notably, Rodri has gone on a remarkable 71-game unbeaten streak in all competitions, a British record. However, despite his consistent and dependable performances, Rodri was surprisingly omitted from the shortlist for the Premier League Player of the Season award.
This decision drew attention, especially given recent praise from Arsenal’s Declan Rice, who hailed Rodri as the best defensive midfielder globally. While teammates like Phil Foden and Erling Haaland secured nominations, Rodri’s notable absence in the shortlist raised eyebrows among fans and pundits alike.

“He has been one of the best. Those nominated deserve it and others deserve it too,” said Guardiola. “The list is huge. What is important is he knows what we think about his importance and what a magnificent, extraordinary player he is. He should not be worried at all about that.”
Manchester City stands on the brink of securing their fourth consecutive Premier League title, regardless of Arsenal’s performance in the remaining fixtures. With just two wins separating them from the coveted trophy, Pep Guardiola’s side faces Tottenham Hotspur in an away fixture on Tuesday evening.
Their title pursuit culminates with a crucial home game against West Ham United on the final day of the season, where they aim to clinch the championship once again.
