Arsenal continued their perfect start to the 2024-25 Premier League season with a commanding 2-0 victory over Aston Villa, marking two wins from two matches. The Gunners secured the win through second-half goals by Leandro Trossard and Thomas Partey.

Trossard, who had just been introduced as a substitute, made an immediate impact by clinically slotting in the opener in the 67th minute. Ten minutes later, Thomas Partey doubled Arsenal’s lead with a powerful long-range strike that Villa’s goalkeeper, Emi Martinez, couldn’t stop from finding the left-hand corner.

Earlier in the match, Villa’s Ollie Watkins squandered a golden opportunity in the first half, missing a low shot wide with only David Raya to beat. Watkins was again denied early in the second half when Raya pulled off a spectacular double save, first deflecting Amadou Onana’s deflected shot onto the crossbar and then preventing Watkins from scoring on the rebound.

Arsenal’s defensive resilience and clinical finishing ensured a solid win against Unai Emery’s side.
