Mount, who was replaced by Joshua Zirkzee, had played only 20 times last season due to injuries after joining United from Chelsea for £55 million.
Erik ten Hag explained the substitution, saying, “It was forced. He complained of a problem, and I didn’t want to take a chance.” Ten Hag added that the severity of Mount’s injury is still unknown but may affect his availability for United’s next match against Liverpool.
