Renowned journalist Gerard Romero highlighted several potential replacements for Marc Bernal, who faces a lengthy absence due to injury, for Barcelona’s match against Vallecano in La Liga. The 17-year-old rising star, Marc Bernal, sustained a cruciate ligament injury and will be sidelined for at least six months.

The Barcelona-focused journalist indicated that multiple names are being considered to fill in for Bernal during his extended absence, with notable‏ mentions being the Frenchman Adrien Rabiot and Portuguese international Danilo Pereira, who currently plays for Paris Saint-Germain.

Rabiot is seen as the top candidate for Barcelona, mainly because he is currently a free agent. However, his high annual salary poses a challenge. If Rabiot agrees to a pay cut, the Catalan club may proceed with signing him. Romero further stated that Hansi Flick, Barcelona’s sporting director, prefers signing the French player if salary negotiations are successful, suggesting Rabiot could be a surprise addition in the final hours of the transfer window.

Adrien Rabiot, a midfielder for the French national team, departed from Juventus after his contract expired at the end of the last season. He is now seeking his next move, which might see him joining Barcelona shortly.
