Man Utd fans say it’s ‘sad but right’ after hearing what Jamie Carragher said about Marcus Rashford
Manchester United fans have responded to Jamie Carragher’s comments about Marcus Rashford ahead of their match against Liverpool.
Before offering commentary on the major league game at Old Trafford, Carragher shared his candid opinion about Man United’s situation, particularly regarding Rashford.
After netting 30 goals across all competitions during the 2022/23 season, Rashford only managed eight goals last season as he struggled with form. As of now, he has yet to open his goal account for the new campaign despite starting in the Red Devils’ first three league matches.
Carragher, however, remains unconvinced that the star forward can lead Manchester United to Premier League or Champions League success.
Speaking before the match, Carragher stated: “I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, if Marcus Rashford is Manchester United’s best attacking player, they’re not winning the league or a European Cup.”
Man United fans took to social media to react to Carragher’s statement, with some agreeing with the Liverpool legend’s assessment.
One X user commented: “Sad, but he’s right.”
Another added: “No one is saying Rashford is our best attacker. But we’re still not winning the league or Champions League anyway.”
A third supporter admitted: “I’ve been saying this for over three years and always get called a fake fan.”
Rashford has struggled to maintain consistency throughout his career, but Manchester United and Erik ten Hag have continued to show faith in the 26-year-old, despite rumors linking him with a potential move away from the club this summer.
