“For sure there will be a chance” – Fabrizio Romano provides intriguing update on Man United target

Things haven’t gone well for Erik ten Hag and Man United thus far this season.
The Red Devils are now in seventh place in the Premier League after 21 games played, eight points behind Liverpool at the top and 13 points behind them. The Reds are in the middle of a game, too.
They are the only side in the top 10 in the table with a negative goal differential thus far, but this is somewhat mitigated by the fact that United’s lineup has been inconsistent due to injuries and poor discipline throughout the season.
There’s no reason why United can’t make a late push for the Champions League berths if ten Hag can find the sweet spot that he found the previous season.
It’s possible that the club will wait to make a major splash in the transfer market until Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s ownership is officially approved rather than making a move in the January window.
Sir Dave Brailsford and others will also have an excellent opportunity to determine precisely where adjustments are required throughout the remaining part of the season, and funding will be made available in the summer as a consequence.
One player that the Daily Mirror (via TNT Sports) has connected to the team is Matthijs de Ligt of Bayern Munich, a defender that ten Hag appointed captain of Ajax at the young age of 19.

Since the Dutchman isn’t enjoying himself in Bavaria, it looks like a summer relocation may be in the works.
“It’s still too early to make summer transfer predictions. It’s too early to name specific clubs, but there’s a good chance Matthijs de Ligt will depart in the summer because things are still quite open, Fabrizio Romano stated in his CaughtOffside Daily Briefing.
