Manchester United fans expressed concern over a specific player following the 1-1 Europa League draw against FC Twente.

Christian Eriksen’s goal gave United a half-time lead at Old Trafford, but Sam Lammers equalized after the break. Manager Erik ten Hag faced criticism from supporters for his substitutions, with many questioning their timing. Additionally, his tactics after United went 1-0 up were criticized, with Eriksen admitting it was “not right” that Twente “looked like they wanted it more.”

While Eriksen maintained his strong form and Marcus Rashford displayed moments of brilliance, attention shifted to midfielder Manuel Ugarte, who made his second start for United since joining from PSG.

Fans voiced their concerns about his performance at Old Trafford. One fan commented, “Thought people were too harsh on Ugarte but bro is not good.” Another questioned his decision-making: “Why is Ugarte shooting? He never scored a goal in his career, you’re just wasting possession.” Others compared him unfavorably to potential alternatives like Amadou Onana and McTominay.

However, some fans praised Ugarte for his defensive strengths. One wrote, “Ugarte has been excellent defensively but has lost the ball too often, which is a bit concerning. However, he’s also won it the most, so I’m not too worried.” Another added, “Ugarte defensively is good, but his passing is awful.”
