Jadon Sancho reveals ‘inside information’ about Man Utd exit during interview with Borussia Dortmund
In a recent interview, Jadon Sancho discussed leaving Manchester United.
After a four-month suspension from first team activities due to a conflict with United manager Erik ten Hag, Sancho returned to Borussia Dortmund on loan in January of this year.
The 23-year-old started an unfortunate stint that saw him record just 12 goals and eight assists in 82 games for United after initially leaving Signal Iduna Park in 2021 for a fee of £75 million.
Sancho, who is currently back in Germany, revealed that Marco Reus initially brought up his return during a preseason friendly between United and Dortmund in July.
Speaking to Dortmund’s YouTube channel, Sancho said: “That Vegas clip, he [Reus] was telling me to come back to Dortmund.
“That’s inside information and he said ‘Whenever you’re ready bro I’m here’. I’ve always had it in my mind that if it didn’t work out somewhere, BVB is a place I know and everyone knows me inside out.
“It’s good to know the club and the players back me.”
Having already registered two assists in his first two appearances since his Dortmund return, Sancho expressed his delight at being back in familiar surroundings.
On the move he said: “Happiness, enjoyment, fun and energy. Those would be the words and ever since I departed Dortmund, I always kept in touch with the players here, always watching the games.
“BVB will always be part of my life and no matter what I do in my future, the club will always have a soft spot in my heart.
“It’s mainly Marco [Reus] and obviously Jamie [Bynoe-Gittens] who I kept in touch with. Me and Jamie are both from London, so we kept in contact.”
The England international is expected to secure a permanent move away from United in the next transfer window, though it is uncertain that would be a permanent move to Dortmund.
